Mr. John Davis

Clarence M. Mitchell
Associate Director of Field Operations
U. S. Cartridge Corporation, St. Louis, Missouri
June 6, 1945
On June 5, I had a conversation with Mr. William Sentner of the UERMWA in St. Louis. He stated that the U. S. Cartridge plant’s program for integrating Negroes in units with whites is progressing satisfactorily. Where there was formerly one unit in which this was done, there are now two. Knowing that you are working on a pamphlet I thought that this information would be useful to you.
The company plans to keep one of the integrated units through the post-war period, according to Mr. Sentner. I have asked Mr. Theodore Brown to give you a detailed, but brief, statement on this.
See the headnote on Major Cases in St. Louis.
