The following matters were assigned to Mr. Bloch for handling:
Mr. Bloch is handling docketing and other duties of Mr. Eugene Davidson. Hence, no FDR's have been submitted to him for review and action. Such as would normally go to him are handled by me.
STANLEY METZGER
The following FDR’s have been assigned to Mr. Metzger for review and handling:
Region VI—8
Region XI—1
Region XII—9
Mr. Metzger is also preparing a memorandum on the stenographic record of the Corpus Christi cases handled by Dr. Castaneda.
I have been unable to make any other assignments to Mr. Metzger because he has not had any stenographic service and has been working on matters assigned by you.
CLARENCE M. MITCHELL
This week, I had a conference with Mr. Jonathan Daniels, at the State Department, concerning the Western Electric case.1 I accompanied the Chairman [Ross] to the General Accounting Office to discuss GAO policies with reference to the hiring of Japanese and also obtained from that office the commitment that information on whether contracts contained non-discrimination clauses will be given to us upon request. A memorandum on this has been prepared.2
I also discussed with Mr. Edward Lawson his handling of the Standard Oil case in New York, 2-BR-61, and General Electric. Mr. Lawson informed me that he would make a visit to General Electric headquarters at Schenectady in the near future.
I have reviewed and taken action on problems listed in weekly reports.
The following FDR’s have been reviewed and acted upon by me:
Region I—1
Region II—14
Region III—5
Region V—1
Region X—3
I am in the process of preparing a summary on DFO cases which will be in your hands Monday, January 10.3
