Biography:
(1887–1965), of Chicago, Illinois; dining car waiter on railroads and union officer. While first international vice president, Brotherhood of Sleeping Car Porters, in 1943, he was appointed as a member of FEPC. He was also known as an outspoken critic of the NAACP.
