Shishkin, Boris Basil

Biography: 

(1906–84), economist; secretary, Housing Committee, AFL (1939–55) and AFL-CIO (1955–71); member, FEPC (1943–45); director, European Labor Division, ECA (Marshall Plan) (1948–52); secretary, Social Security Committee, AFL (1951–53); director, Civil Rights Department, AFL-CIO (1955–64); member, NAACP National Labor Committee from 1946. As a member of the CGC, he assisted the NAACP in obtaining apprenticeships for minority workers in the construction industry.
