Biography: 

(1909–2002), NAACP youth director (1940–43); examiner, New York office, FEPC (1943–45), working primarily on Region I (New England) cases; negotiated with New York office of Remington Arms Co. to adjust FEPC complaints against Kansas City plant; negotiated agreement with New England Telephone Co. for hiring blacks (1945); administrative assistant, NAACP national office (1945–51); racial relations adviser, FHA (1951–55). In 1948, as administrative assistant, he helped in negotiations with AT&T regarding discrimination complaints against telephone companies. In 1950, he also participated in the effort to desegregate restaurants in Washington, D.C; BA, St. John’s University
