Biography:
(1903-81) Worked with Mitchell for Negro Manpower Service of OPM; replaced him as regional rep. in Phila. office (1942); minorities rep., WMC, Phila. (1943); provided information about grievances at Jones and Laughlin Steel plant (1943). Resigned in protest over the attitudes of regional WMC toward strengthening its minority group efforts (Sept. 1943).
