Ferguson, Homer Samuel

Biography: 

(1889–1982) (R-Mich.), lawyer and professor; U.S. senator (1943–55); ambassador to the Philippines (1955–56); judge (1956–71) and senior judge (1971–76), U.S. Court of Military Appeals. Although an opponent of most Fair Deal legislation, he introduced antilynching and anti–poll tax legislation while serving in the Senate.
