Biography:
(1912-87) Kentucky native; admitted to Boilermakers union; refused to transfer to auxiliary when union learned he was black. Arrested after conflict with white worker in California Shipbuilding plant (1943). Gave Mitchell a statement for use in Boilermakers hearings.
