Brotman, Herman Bernard

Biography: 

(1911–1986), moved to D.C. (1935), helped draft Social Security Act, worked with Social Security Administration; then, worked for WMC; served in army in Europe, later, became chief of labor and social administrator during military occupation in Austria, then labor attaché, U.S. embassy there until 1952; worked with HEW; assistant commissioner in admin. of aging, helped draft Older Americans Act of 1965. Sent Mitchell information on employment in street railways (1943). Born in Philadelphia. BA, MA, CCNY.
