Biography: 

(1908–1988), of Philadelphia; vice president, United Electrical Workers (1936–46), International Union of Electrical Workers (1949–72); secretary-treasurer, Pennsylvania Council, Congress of Industrial Organizations (CIO) (1946–60); member, War Stabilization Board (WSB), War Labor Board (WLB), War Production Board (WPB) during WWII. As assistant to James P. Casey, labor representative on Regional Labor Supply Committee, Philadelphia area, assisted in settlement of labor disputes over hiring of blacks at Westinghouse (1942).
