Anderson, Clinton Presba

Biography: 

(1895–1975) (D-N. Mex.), journalist and businessman; New Mexico state treasurer (1933–34); U.S. representative (1941–45); U.S. secretary of agriculture (1945–48); U.S. senator (1949–73). In 1947, Mitchell successfully appealed to him to end discrimination at a federal hospital for migrant workers when it was turned over to the state of Florida. He also supported Mitchell in other civil rights battles.
