Biography:
president of the Shipyard Negro Organization for Victory, local organization of black shipbuilders in Portland, Oregon, that sought to overcome discrimination by shipbuilding companies, relevant unions there; opposed plan to place black welders in Electrical Workers union instead of discriminatory Boilermakers Union. Testified at Boilermakers hearings, Portland (Nov. 1943). Rodriguez, a native of Tampa, Florida, was an officer in the Abraham Lincoln Brigade during the Spanish Civil War.
