(1918–), Harvard-educated economist; consultant for FEPC; prepared report used by FEPC (1944) on discrimination by Boilermakers Union. Previously, research asst. on Gunnar Myrdal’s “Negro in America” project; instructor in economics, Cornell; economist, Tool and Die Commission; member, Regional War Labor Board, Detroit. Author of Organized Labor and the Negro (1944). Later, prof. of industry, dir., Industrial Research Unit, Wharton School, U. Penn.
