Keenan, Joseph Daniel

Biography: 

(1896–1984), Chicago leader of IBEW-AFL; labor adviser, OPM (1940–41); associate director, Labor Production Board (1942); vice chair, Office of Labor Production, WPB (1943–45); aided in reorganization of German labor movement in War Manpower Division, Germany (1945–48); special assistant for labor, ODM (1953–58); international secretary, IBEW (1954–74); vice president, AFL-CIO. FEPC wrote him on employment discrimination in Indiana, enlisted his assistance in negotiations with Boilermakers Union. In January of 1950, he was a part of a delegation from the NECRM who met with President Truman.
