Biography:
(1899–1974), optometrist and poet; assistant director, Division of Negro Affairs, NYA (1936–38); staff member (1938–40) and director (1940–46), Office of Race Relations, USHA; assistant to the administrator, HHFA (1946–53). He aided the NAACP in the fight against federal employment discrimination.
