Hollander, Sidney

Biography: 

(1881–1972), Jewish pharmaceutical manufacturer in Baltimore; president, Maryland Pharmaceutical Company, and The Rem Company (1900–56); president, National Council Jewish Federations and Welfare Funds (1938–46); board member, National Urban League (1945–72). He was active on the governing boards of numerous community relations and social welfare organizations; although a candidate for membership on the FEPC (1943) he was not appointed. He subsequently served on the board of directors of the National Council for a Permanent FEPC.
